Eugene Kaspin - Biography
Eugene Kaspin is an award-winning oil painter who specializes in abstract figurative art and contemporary impressionism. Some of his most recognized pieces include vivid cityscapes depicting rainy days in Manhattan, iconic cable cars in downtown San Francisco, and serene gondola rides in Venice, Italy. He's also known for his vibrant paintings of natural scenery including California coastal beach scenes like Dana Point Harbor and Laguna Beach. His work is featured in many art galleries and private collections in the U.S., England, France, and Canada.
Eugene was born in Russia in 1946 and started studying art at a young age. In 1966, he graduated from art college in order to teach art in high school. After graduating with a diploma in Fine Art, Painting from V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute in 1972, he started working full time as a mural and fine artist.
In 1985, Eugene emigrated to the U.S. with his wife and two children. Since then, he has continued his work in the fine arts with greater freedom. "Working in different styles," says Eugene, "is like going to different countries or wearing different clothes while the person remains the same."
